  • Baptized 17 December 1770   – 26 March 1827)
  • German composer and pianist
  • One of the most important composers inthe history of music.
  • Despite gradual hearing loss and eventual complete deafness in 1819, he composed until his death.
  • Most famous works include nine symphonies, the "Moonlight Sonata" and Fur Elise" for piano and the "Missa Solemnis."
